Frank Ryan Offers Condolence Resolution

This week, I presented condolence resolutions on the House floor in honor of two U.S. Marines from Pennsylvania who were killed in the line of duty last April while conducting combat operations in Afghanistan. The marines had ties to York County and served with ECHO Company 2nd Battalion 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division with the Marine Forces in Harrisburg. They were: Staff Sgt. Christopher K. A. Slutman, a graduate of Frederick Douglass High School in Maryland, whose parents now live in Lower Windsor Township, was a decorated firefighter with the Fire Department of New York City. He began his career with the U.S. Marines in 2005. Sgt. Benjamin S. Hines graduated from Dallastown Area High School in 2006 and joined the U.S. Marines that fall. Both men received various awards and decorations.
