HARRISBURG – Rep. Frank Ryan (R-Lebanon) today announced that the Lebanon School District will receive $400,000 in 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) Grant money. The 21st CCLC program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children.
I am pleased to announce that this money will be distributed to Harding Elementary School, Henry Hauch Elementary School, Southeast Elementary School, Lebanon Middle School, Lebanon High School and Southwest Elementary School, where after school activities and additional learning opportunities are needed,” Ryan said. “I thank Secretary of Education Pedro Rivera for recognizing the schools where this program can really make a difference in students lives.”
The 21st CCLC program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading, math and science; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.”
“The 21st Century Community Learning Center grants provide critical investments for communities to expand educational opportunities for students and families,” Rivera said. “This year’s recipients were selected with an emphasis on improving educational equity and expanding the geographic reach of Pennsylvania’s programs. With these grants, more students across the state will have access to wellness, literacy, and career and technical education programs.”
